This month, I took my DesertX for the weekend travel for the first time. The plan was to head into the Krakow area for two days and minimize time spent on the highway as my bike was still on the run-in period.
I used a highway for about eighty kilometers, and then when I reached the Silesia area, I switched to local roads. That weekend, I brought this bike into a kind of desert to see how it behaves on the sand. It felt okay, but I didn’t push it too much as I was not wearing any enduro gear.
I had a chance to use it for a few commutes and short rides around the city. The bike is pretty big but still fits between cars when filtering. It feels stable during slow-speed maneuvers. One thing I was missing was a small storage space to keep keys, wallet, and other EDC essentials. A tank or cockpit bag may be a good addition. For now, I used cable ties to mount a Kriega harness pocket in the cockpit area, but I will consider switching to a better solution.

It is a very comfy motorcycle so far. The only con is that I experience slight wind buffeting on my head when traveling at highway speeds. I will think about fixing that by using a wind deflector for highway travel in the future. It shouldn’t be a problem on TET or other adventure-like travels, though.
