Enduro, adventure motorcycles and travels

April 2024 Moto Recap

I attended the Hard ADV Survival School event hosted by Kadafi in the Żywiec Beskids area this month. As the name says, it is supposed to be an adventure motorcycle training aimed at big adventure motorcycles.

I didn’t have time to change DesertX tires to off-road ones, and I didn’t have a chance to do serious enduro on the big bike, so I decided to increase my chances of survival and brought my dirt bike there.

We spent the whole day riding in the mountains and did about 130km. It was pretty challenging, and I’m impressed by what other guys did on the big adventure motorcycles like KTM 890 Adventure R or Yamaha Tenere 700.

See the short video report recorded by Daniel. There is even a part where we can see what my ride looks like when I’m exhausted after the whole day.

Later this month I serviced the KTM and almost destroyed my bike. I did everything in the same way as previously. I changed the oil and filter, performed all control checks, cleaned the air filter, and changed the fuel filter. Unfortunately, the result of my service was significantly different as the bike didn’t start…

I checked fuel pump, fuel connector, air filter, even checked battery voltage. Then I remembered what I did, and it was a huge OMG moment.

This day I learned: buy air filter cover from KTM and do not use paper towels instead.
