Not many rides this month – we had a lot of rain, which wasn’t very encouraging. On the bright side, I spent some productive time in the garage.
I installed a new seat cover on my KTM EXC-F. It was my first time doing any upholstery work, and I think it turned out great. I wasn’t sure whether to put the new cover over the OEM one or replace it entirely, and I went with the latter. That turned out to be the right call – keeping both would have made the seat too thick.
Pro tip: don’t waste time trying to find the perfect combination of a heavy-duty stapler and staples that can handle hard plastic. Just go straight for a pneumatic stapler. I didn’t realize how much easier and more efficient it makes the job.

I also tackled something new – applying decals to the entire bike. Considering I was working with older, slightly scratched plastics and had no prior experience, I’m really happy with how it turned out.

I’m pretty sure it’s going to feel like riding a brand-new bike now!
